Oiorpata, literally meaning man-killer. Thus were the ancient tribes of warrior women known. Fierce, fighting man-killers. A few of the tribes, though deadly on the battlefield did live peacefully with men as their helpmates. The women were the hunters and defenders of the society, and the men were held in high esteem as teachers and nurturers of the young. Amrita, a beautiful young Amazon warrior of the more peace-loving Thermyscrians, endures the loss of her mate Tuaok, to the sword of the treacherous Satianne of the murderous Oiorpata and the kidnapping of her three year old daughter, Atileene. After a tortuous sea journey chained as a slave where the ship literally breaks apart around her, Amrita forms an alliance with Taque, a teenage warrior of tremendous agility, Ndoni, a mature visionary Oiorpata Priestess and a wild She Wolf Amrita has befriended. These four, The Amazons, fight a deadly battle to free an oppressed village, overcome the treachery of Satianne and struggle to regain what they have lost.

               FADE IN

               EXT. THERMISKYRA VILLAGE - DAY

The peaceful village of Thermiskyra.  A village where love
and harmony are hard at work.

As THE CAMERA travels through the village we see scenes of
tranquility, but not without readiness, as various weapons
               casually lying around would imply.

A dog or two sleeps lazily in the sun.

Chickens and ducks scratch around the grounds.

Pigs, cattle and horses are munching contentedly in pens.

Villagers are happily going about routine daily tasks.

A TEACHER, sitting, is surrounded by MALE children.

                                   TEACHER
...30 sun cycles equal one moon.
Twelve of which, in turn are a full
season.  When you talk about the
age of woman or man you talk in age
                         of seasons......

THE CAMERA travels past this group to another. This group
consists of all men working on a loom and some pottery.

Then on to a group of women.  They are not engaged in any
               particular activity other than talking.

One woman, MIKALETA, tall with long black hair, is doing most
               of the talking.

                                   MIKALETA
..big cat was stalking the deer and
I knew he would go in for the kill
when it reached the open plain. The
only course of action for dinner
that night would be to swear to the
sword of Diana that I would not let
                         this beast.......

THE CAMERA moves on.  We become more aware of the weapons
               stacked around the village.

Page 2

Long strong bows with quivers stocked full of arrows.  Huge
malevolent looking double-edged swords and distinctive ivy
shaped shields, and wicked looking long thin javelins stacked
               in tepee-like fashion.

Again, THE CAMERA happens upon a group of children being
taught by ANOTHER TEACHER.  This time the group of children
               are all FEMALE.

                                   ANOTHER TEACHER
                         ....and the legend concludes that
the Sword of Diana was lost for all
time in her final battle with all
                         the world's elements....

A little 6 year old GIRL jumps up.

                                   GIRL
I know, I know what they were....
The Land, Fire, Water and Air..

                                   TEACHER
That's right.  It was the mightiest
battle of all and Diana was....

               THE CAMERA moves on.

It is strange as we travel around to different groups or
individuals that the men seem to be happily occupied in what
we would normally think of as women's tasks, i.e. basket
weaving, washing, child care and education.  The women seem
to be engaged in horseplay, re-fighting long-ago battles,
stringing or sharpening weapons; the traditional roles of
               men.

One hut stands out among the rest.  It is the village
leaders' hut.  In front of the hut stand two women in
               conversation.

The older of the women, ANTIOPE, in her mid-to- late forties
               is tall and very beautiful.

The other, a mid- twenties strawberry blond, with long
flowing hair and the face and body of a goddess. This is
               AMRITA.

At her feet lays a massive, WOLF.

                                   ANTIOPE
                         ...danger only lies in Satianne's
                         power.  But Laquia weighs mightily
                         the counsel of Ndoni.

Page 3

                                   AMRITA
I agree, Antiope.  I only wish that
                         Ndoni had more control of
                         Satianne's wanderings.  I don't
feel that our village is safe when
                         Ndoni takes the "Journeys" leaving
                         Satianne to ....

THE CAMERA moves on again.  The forest sounds up to this
point have been natural and tranquil -  birds, insects,
breezes, rustling leaves and quiet conversations all mingling
to create a sublime picture of peace and harmony. We have
traveled through almost all of the small village and returned
to the Teacher teaching the boy children.  He rises to his
feet and jams a long staff into the ground.

                                   TEACHER
...one of you now look at the
shadow of the staff and tell us how
much longer we will have the light
from the fire from above for
                         this.....

Suddenly the forest is silent. The various villagers become
               instantly alert.

Before anyone can react an arrow strikes the Teacher in the
chest.  He falls dead amongst the children.

The village goes instantly to arms, but, it is the women that
bear them, while the men attempt to herd the children to
               safety.

The attackers stay hidden in the forest for the time being.
They let loose a fusillade of arrows and spears that are
devastating to the people of the village.

The women of the village take cover and fight back as best
               they can.

We do not see the attackers but we hear screams as some
               returned arrows find marks.

Antiope takes charge.  She gestures to where she wants the
               different units.

                                   ANTIOPE
JAVELINS AND BOWS, TO THE CENTER!
                         SWORDS! TO THE FLANKS!

to be continued...

Pages 4 - 6

Page 4

The women with bows and javelins slowly come from behind
their protective coverings and horseshoe outward from the
               center of the village.

As the children are placed under cover some of the men take
up arms alongside the fighting women.

It is a difficult battle because the enemy stays hidden in
               the forest.

Hesitation on the part of some of the villagers costs them
their lives, or painful wounds as arrows and javelins
               continue to come flying in.

Amrita throws her javelin.  From the sound we know it has
found a mark.  She picks up her sword and shield and races to
the right flank, dodging arrows all the way.

               Wolf races by her side.

                                   ANTIOPE (cont'd)
                         FLANKS! WHEN IN POSITION, DRIVE
                         THEM OUT TO US!

Amrita and a dozen or so other women enter the forest on the
right flank of the enemy.  In the distance we see Mikaleta
and another group of village women doing the same on the left
               flank.

Amrita holds her sword with both hands over her head.  The
sun glints on the blade and flashes across the village to the
               left flank.

               A returning flash.

Instantly, with a horrific battle cry, the women charge the
flanks of the enemy and drive them into the waiting arrows
and javelins of the women at the center of the village.

Amrita, as are others, is engaged in individual combat from
               time to time.

Amrita cuts down one of the enemy and two more attack her.
They back Amrita up against a hut.  She side-steps and pins
one against the hut, but the other one is about to stab her
               in the back.

Wolf attacks the back-stabber.  He grabs the sword hand and
drags the warrior backwards into a fire-pit.

Amrita dispatches the warrior she is battling then turns to
               acknowledge Wolf's help.

Page 5

Mikaleta, overcomes the warrior she is fighting.

The three of them, Amrita, Mikaleta and Wolf, almost single-
handedly drive back the attacking warriors.

The center of the village is quickly becoming a bloody
               battleground.

The battle goes to the villagers as, what is left of the
beaten enemy, retreat back to the forest.

Amrita, Mikaleta, Wolf and the women of the village start to
chase the enemy into the forest but are stopped by a command
               from Antiope.

                                   ANTIOPE (cont'd)
HOLD!  Leave them go.  They will
                         take this message back!

Reluctantly the village women stop their assault on the
retreating enemy and return to their own casualties.

With the adrenaline of battle still coursing through her,
Amrita turns her attention to something else.

Wolf leads the way as Amrita races through the village.

One of the fallen enemy rises as if to throw a sword at the
passing Wolf.  He stops momentarily to growl.  The warrior
               falls back.

As the warriors head dress falls away, WE SEE that just as
the defenders of this village, the fallen warrior is also a
               woman.

Amrita comes to a tent outside of which a man, TUAOK is
slumped with an arrow in his shoulder.  He is struggling to
               rise.

Amrita grabs him to hold him steady with one hand, while
clawing at the flap of the tent with the other.

Wolf meanwhile runs up and sniffs around the side of the hut
               under a pile of furs.

                                   AMRITA
                         Tuaok!  Atileene!  Atileene!

                                   TUAOK
She is safe.  She is in the
                         shelter.

Page 6

                                   AMRITA
                         You.....?

                                   TUAOK
I am fine.  I will live.  Look
                         after her.

Amrita's face shows grave concern for Tuaok, but something
pulls deeper inside of her.  With reluctance she lowers Tuaok
to a comfortable position then races off to the side of the
               hut.

Wolf has already pawed aside a pile of furs.  Amrita lifts a
               ground cover.

Inside is ATILEENE, a gorgeous three year old girl. Amrita
snatches her up and checks her out all over, as does Wolf.

With obvious relief she holds Atileene in her arms and
               returns to Tuaok.

                                   ATILEENE
                         Daddy... hurt..

                                   AMRITA
Yes, I'll need your help.  Get some
                         poultices from inside, hurry.

Atileene dashes inside the tent as Amrita braces Tuaok for
               what will be coming.

                                   AMRITA (cont'd)
It is clear through.  That is
helpful.  I'll have to break off
one side and pull the shaft back
                         out.

She looks in Tuaok's eyes.  He nods grimly.

Amrita grabs the arrowhead coming out of the back of Tuaok's
shoulder and breaks it off.  She then grasps the shaft of the
arrow in the front, puts her foot on Tuaok's chest and pulls.
The arrow comes out cleanly as Tuaok grimaces in pain.

While Amrita holds him and tries to ease the pain, Atileene
comes out of the tent with the poultices.

                                   ATILEENE
                         Here, mama.

                                   AMRITA
                         Put them here..
                             (She indicates the wound
                              on Tuaok's shoulder.)
                         Hold them tight now..

Atileene presses the poultices, Amrita rips a strip from her
own tunic and binds them to Tuaok's wounds.

Amrita looks at her daughter, then at her mate.  There is

With wolf lying at their feet, this is the typical Amazon
               family portrait, after battle.

               NEXT. THERMISKYRA VILLAGE - EVENING

The front of Antiope's hut.  Gathered around are Antiope and
village leaders, of which one is Amrita.

               Others are LIANNE the Priestess...

               MAKIE an elder...

               OLGIER another elder...

...and Mikaleta (who led the charge on the left flank) and
XNATEEN, a women about Amrita's age.

Wolf lies off to the side.

The rest of the village is busy gathering up the dead, both
friend and foe.  They are wrapping the enemy dead and placing
               them in a wagon.

                                   MIKALETA
...who else but Ndoni and Satianne
                         would dare send warriors against
                         us?

                                   XNATEEN
Their garments and weapons are not
                         of the Oiorpata tribe.

                                   MIKALETA
                         Trickery of Satianne!

                                   OGLIER
                             (Smoking a pipe)
                         I agree with Mikaleta.  Satianne's
                         witchery and guile are renowned.
She would dress and arm her
                         warriors to deceive.

Page 8

                                   MIKALETA
It is time to attack without mercy.
                         Satianne and Ndoni have chipped
away at us for the last two
seasons.  If we do not end their
ability for assault now, we will
have few able bodied left to fight
                         with.

                                   ANTIOPE
                         How many did we lose?

                                   XNATEEN
We were fortunate this time.  Only
two dead to nine of the enemy.  But
                         we have many wounded, especially
the men that were protecting the
                         children.

                                   MAKIE
It would seem that we are causing
more losses for them.  It would be
foolish for them to continue.  The
last few battles have been the
same.  They have lost more warriors
                         then we ever have.

                                   LIANNE
I would agree.  And I'm sure that
Ndoni is advising LaQuia of that
fact as we speak here.  It is
Satianne that will not abide by,
nor care about, the losses they
                         suffer.

Antiope has noticed Amrita's silence through this discussion.

                                   ANTIOPE
And you, Amrita, what are your
                         thoughts on this?

                                   AMRITA
                             (Choosing her words
                              carefully)
I know your desire for peace among
                         our tribes, Antiope.  That desire
is widely known.  I fear Satianne
might be using that somehow, for
                         another bit of her treachery.

Page 9

                                   MIKALETA
How can that be?  They continue to
                         attack us!

                                   AMRITA
Yes, but with less and less success
each time.  I think Satianne is
                         counting on Antiope offering, from
                         her heart, a peaceful settlement
                         before their tribe is destroyed.
And LaQuia being advised by Ndoni
of the high casualties, will most
                         certainly entertain the thought of
                         such a peace, but.....

                                   ANTIOPE
                         What are your misgivings, Amrita?

                                   AMRITA
                         Satianne!  I cannot understand why
she is ruining these offerings of
                         peace by these blundering attacks.
I fear there is something else in
                         her mind.

The rest of the group, knowing the makeup of Satianne, nod in
               agreement.

                                   ANTIOPE
                         Nevertheless, we must make the
offer.  I do not wish to kill off
                         all the Oiorpata.

                                   AMRITA
                             (Reluctantly)
                         Nor do I.

Ad-Lib, grunts and reluctant agreement from the rest of the
               group.

                                   ANTIOPE
As is our custom, we will return
their dead.  I will send a
                         messenger notifying them of this.
Amrita, you and Mikaleta and three
                         other peace warriors will accompany
the wagon. You will offer this plan
                         to LaQuia and her tribe.

Antiope gathers them closer to discuss the peace plan...

INT. Laquia's HUT - OIORPATA VILLAGE - NIGHT

A similar gathering, but more heated discussion is going on
in the hut of the Oiorpata tribal leader, LAQUIA. SATIANNE,
NDONI and two other elders, QULANNE and BARBRIN are there.

                                   BARBRIN
I think Satianne is right, we
                         should attack whenever and wherever
                         we can.

                                   NDONI
We are not in declared war with the
                         Thermiskyrians.  I don't understand
                         all this...

                                   LAQUIA
Nor I.  This was not agreed to by
me.  I ordered Satianne to scout
                         and observe them, not attack,.

                                   BARBRIN
But small scale attacks can weaken
                         and demoralize...

                                   LAQUIA
Until they return the attack. I
fear we would have to be prepared
for a tremendous assault in return.

                                   SATIANNE
My guards are always posted, in
                         time for plenty of warning.

                                   QULANNE
We certainly cannot be weak in the
                         face of the enemy!

                                   NDONI
I didn't say we should be weak. I
only asked why we consider attack
                         for no reason.

Satianne just smiles at the argument she has caused.

                                   LAQUIA
ENOUGH! This is senseless, since I
have ordered no such attacks as
yet. And there has been none. Is
                         that not right Satianne?

Page 11
                                   SATIANNE
                             (Lying through her teeth)
                         Skirmishes.  None of any
                         consequences.

                                   NDONI
But more and more of our warriors
                         are gone...

                                   SATIANNE
We've lost many to the slave-
traders and some have even joined
them to gain the riches they
                         proclaim..

                                   LAQUIA
                         I have heard enough, Satianne.
Leave.  All of you,  so that I may
                         consider our course.

Satianne bows to LaQuia as she and the group leaves the hut.

                                   LAQUIA (cont'd)
                         Ndoni, stay!

Satianne backs out of the hut, with an ill-concealed
               malevolent glare at Ndoni.

                                                       CUT TO:

INT. AMRITA AND TUAOK'S HUT - NIGHT

A low flickering firelight in the center of the hut shows off
the exquisite bodies of Amrita and Tuaok as they lay amidst
               their fur bedclothes.

Tuaok's shoulder is bandaged with the poultice but that
               doesn't bind his ardor.

               Amrita is pensive.

Tuaok is trying to playfully arouse her. He nuzzles her ear.

                                   TUAOK
The  stars will not fall from the
skies if you stop thinking about
the troubles for an hour or so.

Amrita holds his hand lovingly, but still stares into space.

                                   AMRITA
My thoughts are for the safety of
                         our village, Tuaok.  Antiope has
ruled that we are to offer peace to
                         the Oiorpata, again.

Page 12
Tuaok's hands move beneath the furs.

                                   TUAOK
Is that not a reason to celebrate!
                         Especially with love... especially
if they accept the offer this time.
It has been more seasons then I
care to remember that the children
have grown up with this constant
                         warring.

Amrita rolls over to face him.

                                   AMRITA
It is precisely that fact that
bothers me.  In war we know our
enemy.  In peace we do not.

                                   TUAOK
The suspicious mind of a beautiful
woman... ah, so glad it is not
                         directed at me.

He kisses just above her breasts.

                                   TUAOK (cont'd)
Do you not think, LaQuia and Ndoni
are to be trusted if they vow to
                         Antiope?

She is now having a hard time resisting Tuaok's gentle and
               persuasive loving.

                                   AMRITA
Yes.  I would trust them both
almost as I do Antiope, if they
were to give their word.  It is
                         Satianne!

Tuaok halts what he is doing and looks in Amrita's eyes.

                                   TUAOK
It is wise to be distrustful of the
woman from Hell. But, I have no
doubt that LaQuia would be quick to
eliminate anyone that went back on
a solemn word that she herself had
given....that is, if LaQuia is to
                         agree at all.
to be continued...

Pages 13 - 15

              Page 13
Amrita is really warming to him now.

                                   AMRITA
You are right.  The future cannot
be foretold, we must live it as it
comes. Besides, the present is a
much more agreeable thought.  But I
                         am concerned about your shoulder.

                                   TUAOK
It is not my shoulder that should
                         concern you right now.

Her eyes take on a passion that hadn't been there before.

Her hands move beneath the furs as she snuggles closer to,
               Tuaok.

She kisses him long and lovingly. Then she pulls back
slightly and looks over her shoulder to another pile of furs
on the far side of the hut.

                                   AMRITA
                         Ohh, Atileene!  She will wake!

Tuaok gently pulls her back to him.

                                   TUAOK
No, she is with Mikaleta tonight.
Mikaleta was telling her stories of
                         the ancient warriors and Diana's
Sword. Atileene fell asleep in her
hut.  I asked for her to stay
                         there.

                                   AMRITA
                             (Indicating the furs)
                         Then who....

                                   TUAOK
                         Wolf.  I don't think he'll mind.

Tuaok rolls on top of Amrita as she relaxes back on the furs.
He kisses her fervently, the passion surging within him.
Amrita returns the kiss with a fire burning even hotter than
               his own.

She gently forces Tuaok till his back is on the furs and she
               is astride him.

Page 14
                                   AMRITA
Since Atileene came we have not had
much time to show our love for each
other.  Tonight is my turn for
                         you..

She leans down and kisses his mouth, his neck, his chest
while riding him, gently at first.

Their pleasure begins to overcome them both as we...

...PAN to Wolf. He burrows his head deeper into the pile of
               furs.

                                                       DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. FOREST - MOUNTAIN - LAKE AREAS - DAY

Amrita, Mikaleta and other warriors of the village are on
horseback, A young beautiful warrior, NEALON drives the death
wagon as they travel across a picturesque forested stream.
And although we don't realize it for the moment, the
following scenes show Nealon using hand signals to
communicate.  She is able to hear, but is mute.

Wolf runs ahead as they cross a grassy flowing plain.

Resting time near a wide lake.  They all bathe and play in
               the water, animals and warriors.

After they bathe, the group has a moment of ritual for the
               wagon-load of dead enemy.

                                   AMRITA
                             (Sprinkling lake water on
                              the wagon.)
                         Though enemy, you fought bravely.
We cleanse your spirits.  May your
                         tribe remember your life and
                         respect your death.

The group bows their heads in respect.

                                                       DISSOLVE TO:

EXT. A THICKLY WOODED DARK FOREST - DAY

The group sits their horses warily, ever watchful in the
               gloom of the forest.

Amrita signals the group to a halt.  She dismounts and
follows Wolf through a break in the forest.

Page 15
Wolf and Amrita creep up to the edge of a small hill.

               Mikaleta silently joins them.

                                   MIKALETA
                             (Crawling next to Amrita)
                         What is it?

                                   AMRITA
Something is strange.  There are no
                         sentries.

                                   MIKALETA
Well, we are coming in peace!  Our
                         messenger must have arrived long
                         ago.

                                   AMRITA
They would still post sentries. I
                         can sense someone watching... but
                         see no sign.

Amrita motions that they should re-join the group.

The horses are restless as, Amrita, Mikaleta and Wolf return.

                                   AMRITA (cont'd)
Nealon, we will tie our horses to
the back of the wagon.  Follow at a
                         distance.
                             (To the rest of the
                              group.)
We go the rest of the way on foot.

She motions to Wolf who, crouching low leads them from the
forest and down the other side of the small hill along a
               rocky path.

The party is alert to danger as they scan the boulders and
               crevices they pass.

Suddenly, Wolf stops and growls low.

About a dozen female warriors leap from the surrounding
heights and boulders. An all out battle rages.

Amrita is battling two warriors at once.

It is fierce and very quickly decisive, but not without a
               cost.

At her back, Wolf subdues and cows another warrior. With a
snap of his jaws Wolf disarms the warrior and sends her
running. Wolf stands at the ready as yet another warrior
hurls a javelin at Amrita's back.

Page 16

Wolf leaps and takes the spear deep in his chest.

Amrita quickly routs the two she is fighting and turns to
help Wolf.  It is too late.

               Ferociously, Amrita cuts down the
javelin thrower. Amrita looks at Wolf, but with the rest of
her group still fighting for their lives, Amrita must leave
               Wolf's side and help.

Rendered almost helpless by the sheer force of Amrita's rage,
the attacking warriors fall back quickly.

Halting only momentarily by Wolf's side, Amrita signals to
               Nealon approaching with the wagon.

The savage enemy are retreating even faster now. Amrita and
her small band pursue them recklessly.

They chase the fleeing warriors, right into the Oiorpata
               village.

Instantly the camp is up in arms, the fleeing enemy sentries
now turn facing Amrita and her warriors.

The Thermiskyrians are surrounded by over a hundred Oiorpata
warriors. Although enraged at the death of Wolf, and ready to
fight to her own death, Amrita knows they would all be cut
down in seconds.  With great difficulty she contains her rage
               and sorrow and calms herself.

The situation is ludicrous.  Amrita's small party is
surrounded by a hundred Amazon warriors, javelins and swords
raised. Bloodied from the skirmish, Amrita says...

                                   AMRITA (cont'd)
                         ...we come in peace.

               Satianne comes forward.

                                   SATIANNE
                         Of course you do, now!
                             (To her warriors)
                         KILL THEM!

Amrita's small party girds for battle, they will fight to the
               last.

               The enemy warriors close in.

               A voice is heard.

                                   LAQUIA
                         HOLD!
_______________________________________________________________________________
Page 17

               The advancing warriors stop.

Pushing through between them comes, LaQuia and Ndoni.

                                   LAQUIA (cont'd)
                             (To her warriors)
                         Beware the perimeters! NOW!

Instantly half the warriors surrounding Amrita's party turn
to protect the outer edges of the village.

                                   LAQUIA (cont'd)
You, Amrita are not foolish enough
to attack our village with such a
                         small party.

It is a tense moment as Amrita and her little band of
Thermiskyrians stare down LaQuia and the rest of her
               warriors.

Amrita motions to her group. They all lay down their arms.

                                   AMRITA
As I said, we come in peace.  We
sent a messenger of truce to tell
                         you this.

                                   LAQUIA
We have received no such messenger.

                                   SATIANNE
                             (With a wicked smile on
                              her face.)
Perhaps your messenger met with an
                         unfortunate accident in the forest.

Amrita glares directly at Satianne although talking to
               LaQuia.

                                   AMRITA
We have brought your dead from the
                         attack on our village. Laquia
                         exchanges a look with Satianne.

                                   SATIANNE
You lie!  We have ordered no such
                         attack.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Page 18

Amrita raises her arm with a "come forward" motion.

Nealon appears from the tree-line with the wagon of the dead.

All stare as the wagon lumbers into the village.

WE SEE  the body of Wolf lying on the seat beside Nealon.

When the wagon with the dead stops in the center of the
village, Amrita lifts the coverings revealing the bodies.

                                   AMRITA
I believe, Argonue is of the
                         Oiorpata.  And Shelaina, Massalou
and  others, all of the Oiorpata.
                             (Pointedly)
Though it is puzzling that this is
not the dress of the Oiorpata
                         tribe.

LaQuia stares at the bodies on the wagon, then turns to
               Satianne and Ndoni.

               Ndoni is perplexed.

               Satianne just sneers.

                                   SATIANNE
Rogues.  They left the tribe moons
ago.  Rather then hunt them down we
decided to let them fend of their
                         own devices.
                             (To Laquia.)
We didn't wish to trouble you.

LaQuia knows instantly Satianne is lying but is uncertain
whether or not Amrita will buy it.

                                   LAQUIA
Then a ceremonial burial is not
justified.  Haul them back to the
                         forest for the animals.

She motions to have the wagon taken away.

An Oiorpata warrior jumps to the seat of the wagon, replacing
Nealon who joins the rest of the Thermiskyrians.

                                   AMRITA
Wait!  There is one body that
should be honored with a burial.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Page 19
Amrita lifts  Wolf's body from the wagon and holds him in her
               arms.

Her face is unable to hide her grief.

Satianne has an almost childish gleam in her eyes.

                                   SATIANNE
                         Ah, your wolf.

                                   LAQUIA
                         This was from our sentries?

                                   AMRITA
Yes, if our messenger had gotten
                         through...
                             (She looks directly at
                              Satianne again.)
                         ...this would not have happened.

                                   LAQUIA
I have seen this beast in battle.
He was legendary by your side. Take
him and give him the honors he
                         deserves.
                             (She looks past Amrita.)
I see Mikaleta there, she can tell
us of this, "peace" you talk about.
In the meantime we will keep your
                         weapons.

LaQuia motions to some warriors. They pick up the
Thermiskyrian's weapons.  She then nods to Ndoni, Satianne
               and other tribal leaders.

                                   LAQUIA (cont'd)
                         Come.

She exits to her hut.  Mikaleta and all the Oiorpata leaders
               except Satianne follow her immediately.

                                   SATIANNE
                             (To Amrita.)
                         I thought the Thermiskyrians were
                         only lovers of men.

Amrita is lost in her grief..

                                   AMRITA
All manner of beast have our
                         respect.  Until they have proven
                         they do not deserve it.

                                   SATIANNE
A lover of man, and beast?  How
                         very interesting.

Amrita meets Satianne's bedeviling gaze.  The hatred between
the two of them is palpable.  She turns and walks away with
               Wolf.

               INT. LAQUIA'S HUT - DAY

The elders and tribal leaders are gathered around.  Mikaleta
is just finishing with the explanation of the plan as
               Satianne enters.

                                   MIKALETA
...It simply requires the trust of
leaders from both tribes to bring
this peace. LaQuia stares hard at
                         Satianne.

                                   LAQUIA
                         Alright, Mikaleta, we will discuss
this among ourselves now.  You may
                         go.

Mikaleta exits. There is a long pause before LaQuia speaks.

                                   LAQUIA (cont'd)
Satianne!  What is this talk of
                         "rogue" warriors?  These women were
                         under your tutelage?

                                   SATIANNE
Yes, LaQuia, I was teaching them to
become the most savage warriors we
                         could produce.  Obviously they took
their training too far and struck
out on their own to practice what
                         they had learned.

LaQuia obviously doesn't believe her, but lets it go for the
               moment.

                                   NDONI
                         The Thermiskyrians have an
                         interesting peace proposal Laquia.
I feel there might be some
                         advantages to it.

Satianne goes into her "smarmy" mode, oozing false charm.

                                   SATIANNE
Well, we should certainly look at
the whole picture of a peace with
                         the Thermiskyrians.  What is the
                         positive side of this?

                                   NDONI
We have lost many warriors in past
                         battles with the Thermiskyrians.
The continuous threat of them takes
away from our hunting and foraging
further to the east.  The constant
                         alertness and patrols undermine the
morale of our people.  With a peace
we would be able to forge a common
                         front that would intimidate any
                         other enemy.

                                   SATIANNE
                         And the negative...?

                                   NDONI
I... don't see any... at this time.

                                   SATIANNE
No?  Is not answering to another
for what we wish to accomplish a
                         negative?  How about the
                         Gargareans, our male counterparts?
                         The seasonal rituals to produce
female children for our tribe might
                         be threatened.  The Thermiskyrians
                         were never friendly with the
                         Gargareans. Would the Gargareans
then become our enemies?  Our tribe
                         would very soon die out.

The elders and tribal leaders ponder this.

                                   LAQUIA
You are right, Satianne.  We cannot
                         afford to alienate the Gargareans.
We need the male seed in our
                         seasonal ritual to expand our
                         tribe.

                                   SATIANNE
So, we cannot afford this peace.

                                   NDONI
Yes! We can!  If the Gargareans are
                         part of the plan.
to be continued...
